Photocatalytic properties of nanoparticles obtained by laser ablation of bismuth
In this work, nanoparticles (NPs) of different compositions and structures were obtained by the method of pulsed laser ablation of metallic Bi in water and air. The resulting NPs were investigated by different physicochemical methods: X-ray phase analysis (XPA) identified the crystal structure and phase composition of the samples, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) determined the size and shape, and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) investigated absorption in the UV-visible spectral range. The photocatalytic properties of NPs were studied in the decomposition of the organic dye Rhodamine B under the action of LED radia-47 tion with a wavelength of 375 nm. The bestphotocatalytic activity was shown by the Bi_H2O sample, which mainly contains the bismuth oxycarbonate phase.
