Probabilistic method for determining the rate of a chemical reaction
The article is devoted to establishing the relationship between the rate of a chemical reaction and a change in the thermodynamic potential of the reacting system. In the process of a chemical reaction, as a nonequilibrium process, the dissociation of a molecule occurs with the absorption of energy, and the formation of new bonds is accompanied by the release of energy. The rate of a chemical reaction is determined by the number of active molecules whose kinetic energy is higher than their binding energy (potential energy) in the structure. The obtained equations of chemical kinetics are applicable to describe homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions, regardless of the aggregate and phase state of substances. The chosen model makes it possible to determine the applicability, the structure of synthesized substances, and the threshold for the start and end of a chemical reaction. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
