Scientific heritage of A.S. Dogel in the collection of the museum of Kursk State Medical University

Museums of medical universities play an important role in preserving the historical and scientific heritage of the regions, ensuring the continuity of scientific research and medical education. Throughout its history, the Kursk State Medical Institute/University (KGMI/KSMU) has preserved physical, written, and visual materials about the activities of representatives of major scientific schools of the country who worked in Kursk. Of particular pride are the expositions of the museum of the Department of Histology, Embryology, and Cytology, dedicated to the scientific heritage of the A.S. Dogel school in the Kursk region. The purpose of this work was to review the museum collections of Kursk State Medical University dedicated to preserving the memory of the activities of histology professors I.D. Richter and Z.N. Gorbatsevich, representatives of the scientific school of A.S. Dogel, in the Kursk. The museum houses a collection of histological preparations by Professor A.V. Nemilov of Leningrad State University, a student of Professor A.S. Dogel, which was brought to Kursk by a representative of the Leningrad scientific histological school, Professor I.D. Richter. This collection includes drugs brought by A.S. Dogel and A.V. Nemilov from European universities. There are more than 15 glasses, and the earliest preparations date back to 1855. The same collection contains more than 20 preparations made by A.S. Dogel and his students, future academicians and doctors of Sciences A.A. Zavarzin, D.K. Tretyakov, D.I. Deineka. In total, the collection contains about 300 histological slides. The museum houses textbooks and books by A.S. Dogel, which are lifetime publications. Histological slides made by the head of the Department of Histology and Embryology of KSMU from 1945 to 1955, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor I.D. Richter, representative of the scientific school of A.S. Dogel-A.V. Nemilova, are of particular value to KSMU. Histological preparations made by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Z.N. Gorbatsevich, a representative of the scientific school of A.S. Dogel-D.I. Deineky, who headed the Department of Histology and Embryology of the KSMU from 1955 to 1974, are of great value for the history of the Kursk scientific morphological school. Currently, one of the most important activities of the museum of the Department of Histology, Embryology, and Cytology of KSMU is the adaptation of ways to preserve the historical memory of the scientific neuromorphological school of A.S. Dogel in the context of computerization, organization of online exhibitions, and information technology capabilities of the university, which open up new opportunities for the presentation of the memorial heritage of scientists.
