THE USER INTERFACE EVOLUTION: FROM TERMINAL TO AUGMENTED REALITY
The article analyzes development of user interfaces for personal computers and mobile devices. It offers a conceptual examination of how these interfaces evolved from 1960 to 2012, and describes the specific paradigms and prospects for UIs in the context of widespread implementation of computer technology. As a theoretical and methodological framework it uses works by F. Kittler, L. Manovich and J. Lacan.
