The article offers an overview of the recently published collective monograph Evolutionary Environments. Homo Sapiens - an Endangered Species? devoted to comparative imagology on the scale of civilisational blocks. The book successfully explores the cultural stereotypes of Self and Other, as well as the concept of ‘otherness', present in fiction, academic discourse, political and media space within the Russian, Chinese, Indian and Muslim civilisations, as well as European-American and Eurasian super-civilisations.
