Symbols in the russian community linguocultural

Article is dedicated to the symbolic level of linguistic culture as the most nationally specific. The article defines the nature of the symbol, deals with its' interpretations suggested by distinguished scientists considering this issue, emphasizes the importance of the symbol for linguoculture: it makes possible to enter the world of nonobjective semantic relations. It also identifies the main purpose of the symbol - to connect ideal and real world in person's consciousness. The article compares the symbols and the images, signs of indirect nomination. Concrete examples make it possible to determine the symbolic meaning of certain words. The author comes to a conclusion that sustainable lexical symbolics represents sociocultural stereotypes of the linguocultural community. Its' use allows to double reality placing near the world of reflected images the world of objects, relations and qualities.
