Influence of extra linguistic factors on the formation of new abbreviated English terms

This article is a sociolinguistic study, in which the new English abbreviations of social and economic terms are considered. It is well known that English language tends to save language means. As a result, this process includes not only the reduction of long polysyllabic words but wordy phrases and simple short terms. Different types of cuts penetrate into the specialized sphere of language and, of course, the economic terminology is not an exception, as the economy covers almost all spheres of society. That is why the problem of deciphering abbreviations of English economic terms is relevant today. Terminology is associated with the corresponding system of concepts and formed under the influence of social phenomena and scientific achievements by the term accumulation, storage and transfer of knowledge. The life of society is reflected in language, new concepts need to be articulated in any way, so there are new words and terms that express these concepts. That's why issues of new terms still remain relevant, and their abbreviations, the problem of polysemy, synonyms, homonyms, borrowings, decoding and translation problems, and so on. The study defines the scope of the use of the test terms, carried out a structural analysis of the identified reduction units defined by their component parts, revealed their meanings are described extra linguistic factors contributing to their appearance. In addition, we identified and described a term, which we consider as the objects of the secondary nomination. The contents of this article can be used in lectures on lexicology, as well as for the training of students of economic specialties of the English language.
