Peculiarities of pre-service foreign language teachers’ professional communicative competency development

The article analyses the peculiarities of future foreign language teachers’ professional communicative competency development in the context of poly approach basis of higher education in the logics of post non-classical scientific paradigm. The rationale of the present study is caused by the need in resolving a number of the interconnected and objective contradictions, such as the existence of extensive scientific and theoretical basis of the professional foreign language training in a higher education institution and the lack of the scientific description of process of forming a foreign-language professional communicative competence of future bachelors and master’s degree students (teachers of a foreign language) in the logics of level higher education; the need in effective foreign language for professional communication training tools and strategies developed for future bachelors and masters, and their deficiency in the process of instruction at a higher education institution. A research objective was the development and practical introduction and implementation in the educational process of a higher education institution of the evidence-based, experimentally verified strategy of forming foreign-language professional communicative competence of students - future teachers of a foreign language. The author introduces a binary structure of the competency where the invariant part is represented by a student’s ability and motivation for foreign language professional activity and the variable part comprises a set of professional and communicative competencies specified by the National Curriculum for Higher Education. The theoretical preliminaries revealed at the course of the present research made it possible to create the basis for the formation of a foreign-language professional communicative competence, allowed to define the purpose of the educational process aimed at forming the competence under analysis of future teachers of a foreign language. Key training objectives and principles of the education process determining the selection of the applicable teaching techniques aimed at forming the competency and described in the research are articulated.
