Perceptual codes in literary textworlds' construal

The aim of the article was to explore the importance and actualization of linguistic tools of efficient author's transmitting of instant text immersion and empathy of readers of the text. To provide this aim new knowledge was applied and new notions: perceptual codes (our own new term), visualization and perception via contemporary broadening of meanings of these notions. Perceptual codes were defined as special "keys" simulating basic natural man's perceptions of the world (letting him to see, to hear, to feel the touch, to feel taste and smell) and leading to visualization . At present this ability is called "the eye of the mind" or ("a window to the world"). In literary text the author is to be very creative and skillful to provide the most efficient linguistic means of instant readers' immersion. Exactly this ability characterizes the literary talent of Steven King and leads to his universal acclaim. The chosen methodology for theoretical background and empirical analysis of the article was complex and multi-disciplinary. The practical material was provided by the novel of St. King "Rose Madder". The subject-matter for analysis was the emotional - sensitive state of the principal personage Rose who experienced ever changing stages: from despair to fear; later joy, peace and happiness. St. King artfully rendered all these states masterfully playing with various linguistic tools of their expression, their variations providing successful actualization. The chosen innovative notions of this article based on multi-disciplinary achievements contributed to get access to some of St. King' secrets. The stated aim of the present article was achieved.
