Autonomous foreign language learning as the basis of a pre-service officer self-organization
Current global geopolitical satiation makes Russian military establish international partnership with standing armies of other countries. They are to cooperate in order to provide national and collective security, to combat terrorism and extremism, to conduct joint exercises. It causes the change of requirements to the future officers' training and defines the need for servicemen having an advanced level of international communication language, carrying out their duties up to the world standards. Consequently, in furtherance of successful professional realization in the context of contemporary reality a future officer must continually evolve in the sphere of foreign language learning with the help of self-organization. So for now, independence and self-organization are the key priority areas for future officers' foreign language training. These areas are mutually conditioned. Initialization of self-organization development is probable by means of prevenient cadet's independence formation. Independence determines the cadet's self-organization readiness. As a result, cadets' foreign language teaching must be supported by the foreign language independence formation. It is a factor improving efficiency of future officer's foreign language and professional training. Such a qualitative transition is possible in the sphere of cadets' foreign language teaching, if modifications are brought into the training organization and the whole complex of converting methodic conditions are projected. A method of cadet's foreign language teaching presents the algorithm of independence formation by means of purposeful independent work organization. It includes some hierarchically-structured blocks: purpose-oriented, theoretic, technologic and resultative. The purpose and tasks are introduced in the purpose-oriented block. A purpose of the method is determined including the purposes of languaging in principle. The given purpose orients the process of foreign language teaching to the formation of such personal qualities of future officers as independence and self-organization. These qualities are contributed to the carrying out of their duties up to the world standards. Approaches to the teaching and principles are described in the theoretic block. In aggregate they are a conceptual and methodological base of the method. Set purpose, tasks, approaches and principles determine a technologic block of the method. The block includes linguistic and didactic conditions, technology of independent work organization and means of method implementation. Cadets' independent work is organized by means of developed exercise complexes. This technology is a base of the method and comprises the element of game, differentiated and individualized teaching, project-oriented technology, module technology, information and communications technology, technology of critical thinking development, technology of lexical material visualizing. There are four independence elements. They are motivational, informative, reflective and operational. The exercise complexes are developed to form and activate independence elements gradually. So, the exercises develop independence by activation of its structural components. The complexes for different types independent work organization form separate levels of independence and contain four groups of exercises. They are lexical and grammar exercises, exercises for work with a text, exercises for work with a dictionary. The system of professionally-oriented texts is a means of technology realization too. This system represents a professionally significant foreign language environment. Criteria of text system organization are selected on the basis of determined independence components. These criteria help choose texts just for the military foreign language teaching. Complexes of exercises and system of texts provide the content of teaching process that corresponds to the purpose of future officers' languaging and contributes to the formation of necessary knowledge and skills set. Productivity of the method realization is determined in the resultative block. Developed method of cadets' foreign language teaching is a modern instrument of achieving necessary teaching process productive organization at a qualitatively new level. It helps project individual trajectory of cadet's independence formation with the selection of individual tasks and individual tasks setting. The method also develops cadets' need of continuous self-development in the sphere of foreign languages learning. Developed method of cadet's foreign language teaching provides independence formation by organization and integration of different types of independent work (reproducing, transforming and creative). It also provides gradient transition from the level of reproductive and imitative independence to the levels of research and performing independence, creative independence, and, as a result, progress of self-organization. The effectiveness of the developed method is proved in the process of its testing. Positive dynamics of cadet's self-organization is determined.
