Russian Standarts of higher education (linguistics and translation): problems of linguistic security from the perspective of linguodidactics
The paper is focused on competences descriptors formulated in Russian Federal standards (of the so called 'third generation') as demands for those who finish Russian universities with a Bachelor's, Specialist's or Master's degree in linguistics, translation and translation study. It is argued that a critical analysis, aimed at identification of different stylistic, logical and didactic flaws in these texts, should be considered an actual demand of the contemporary moment. A complex stylistic, logical and didactic analysis of competences descriptors formulated in Russian federal education standards of higher education ('Linguistics' - 45.03.02 (bachelor's degree), 2014; 45.04.02 (master's degree), 2016; and 'Translation and interpretation studies' - 45.05.01 (specialist's degree), 2017) has been carried out. The authors argue that the demands of linguistic security are essential for evaluating these standards; a description of these demands, specified in accordance with individual characteristics of the texts, are provided. Among the major principals, or demands, of linguistic security the following ones are denoted: a) the conformity of wordings to language, communicative and ethical norms of Russian speech; b) observance of the balance between the traditional and the innovative, particularly, in the sphere of lexical and syntactic means; c) compliance with the major tendencies of the state language politics; d) inde-fectibility of the academic discourse presented in the texts; e) demonstration of how to interpret the process of learning languages from the didactic point of view. On the basis of observation and comparison the authors demonstrate that the texts of federal standards under analysis are unable to provide complete correspondence of the education process regulated by them to the principles of linguistic security, and that, at some certain points, they themselves violate these principles. There have been distinguished, in descriptors of general and professional competences, as well as in their systems developed for the standards of bachelor's, specialist's and master's degrees, cases of logic and didactic contradictions, and cases of stylistic defects, such as disregard of lexical compatibility, verbal incompleteness and verbal redundancy, logic displacement, and usage of a word without taking its semantics in consideration. The authors argue that the main source of all these flaws should be considered a careless attitude to cultural heritage and tradition, including the national language and achievements of Russian science (first of all, linguistic and linguodidactics) against the background of commitment to innovations and speedy changes.
