The Method of Formation and Translation of Complex Words in English (Based on Analytical Articles)

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of formation and translation of English compound words. The basic methods of English compound words are in the article analyzed. The aim of the article is to analyse the peculiarities of formation and translation of English compound words. There are changes in every language, the new words appear. The English language is characterized by the continuous formation of new words, and the most interesting is the study of word formation, namely compounding. The methodological basis was the works of scientists Y.T. Retsker, L.S. Barkhudarov, V.N. Komissarova, N.A. Stock and others. The models of the compound words formation in English are in the article determined. The classification of the complex words groups and their formation's patterns are in the article presented. The statistical analysis of complex words models was done on the basis of English explanatory dictionaries, encyclopedias, electronic dictionaries. There is a wide range of data in these dictionaries, especially concerning the semantic aspect of compound words. The practical research is also based on the material of English analytical articles. The frequency of use of structural models of compound words in the texts of English analytical articles is showed in the research. The author indicates the high representativeness of the compound words in the English analytical articles. There is also the translation of compound words. The article gives the most frequently used methods and techniques of compound words. A special emphasis of the article is on analysis of translation transformations of compound words and their varieties. The author of the article dwells in detail on quantitative indicators of compound words transformations in terms of expression and content. The percentage of translation transformations of compound words in the studied corpus article is represented in the article. The research deals with the morphological and structural correspondences as components of the complex correlation of compound words and their equivalents.
