Methods of achieving speech compression in translation with subtitles (based on «Mulan» movie by Jingle Ma, China, 2009)
In the article the term «subtitle» is analyzed. Linguistic, psychological and technical aspects are considered. The author makes an attempt to identify the importance of the linguistic elements that are eliminated during the subtitle creation. Peculiarities of subtitling are illustrated by the example from the film «Mulan» by Jingle Ma (2009).
