Language as the cultural code of a nation

Modern culture lost universal foundation and transformed into variety of cultural worlds. So the ways of its perception becomes the topical problem. The aim of intercultural learning today is to increase international and cross- cultural tolerance. Cultural awareness must be viewed as enabling language proficiency. Actually, we can talk today about a revolution in communication, which determines a civic society's formation and development. In the article is considered the notion of culture in context of the history on base of the studies of Sepir, one of the most known American linguists and culturologists of the XX century, as well as interaction of language and culture.
