Codes of the merchants' professional ethics as the source of commercial law in traditional China
The article deals with the analysis of a few remained codes of the merchants' professional ethics of the imperial China. These codes had a great impact on the sense of justice of the Chinese merchants who considered its observance to be an obligatory condition of their successful commercial activity. Based on the principles of Confucianism and norms of customary commercial law the codes formed a significant source of legal regulation of commercial- economic relations in the traditional China.
