Modern Komi-Permyak phytonymic vocabulary in connection with issues of its lexicographying
The article analyzes the vocabulary of the thematic field “Plant World” in the modern Komi-Permyak language in the lexicographical aspect. The publication in 2021 of the monographs Materials for a Dictionary of Komi-Permyak Names of Mushrooms and Materials for a Dictionary of Komi-Permyak Names of Plants was an important step in the development of Komi-Permyak lexicology and lexicography, but at the same time raised a number of significant questions for the lexicography of the Komi-Permyak language and other Finno-Ugric languages of Russia. The aim of this article is to generalize and clarify the principles of organization of Komi-Permyak vocabulary, which must be taken into account to improve the quality, accuracy and verifiability of word descriptions in thematic bilingual dictionaries. The main objective is to summarize observations of the vocabulary of flora, which are reflected in scattered publications and handwritten works. The authors start from a number of fundamental issues of lexicographic description of vocabulary in a thematic (botanical) dictionary: (1) an urgent problem is the compilation of a dictionary of Komi-Permyak phytonyms, including all available data; (2) the spelling of heading words should be based on consistent spelling principles, but in a dictionary entry it is advisable to reflect all spelling options available in the sources; (3) the preparation of a phytonym dictionary should be carried out with the direct cooperation of philologists and specialists in local flora (botanists); the dictionary entry must be accompanied by links to sources, territorial and temporal references of the units described; (4) to increase the scientific value of lexicographed materials, it is advisable to accompany linguistic data with additional information of strictly linguistic, philological, encyclopedic and other nature. Within the framework of these conceptual approaches, pressing issues of the spelling of Komi-Permyak phytonyms are considered; important elements (zones) of a dictionary entry are analyzed; issues of collection, selection and certification of data, interpretation of semantics, illustration of definitions, inclusion of additional information (onomastic parallels, etymological, encyclopedic references, ethnolinguistic comments, etc.) are discussed. The developed principles are aimed at improving the quality of lexicographying, combining the approaches of traditional and modern (anthropo-oriented) lexicography. The authors declare no conflicts of interests.
