Learner's cross-cultural dictionary: The specifics of macro- and microstructuring (a case study of a Russian-Korean dictionary of proverbs)

The article summarizes the domestic and foreign experience of comparative bilingual dictionary description of culturally determined linguistic units, primarily phraseological units and proverbs. Special attention is paid to the explicit representation of the similarities and differences of their cultural background. Examples of sequential placement of correlative units of two languages in a dictionary entry and their parallel-contrastive representation in a table format are shown. Examples of the implementation of these lexicographic techniques in the works of the lexicographic laboratory of Pskov State University are given. Based on the material of a new project - a cross-cultural dictionary of Russian and Korean proverbs, the possibilities of combining various formats of representation of similarities and differences of correlative parodies are considered. At the macrostructure level, this is the alphabetical arrangement of the material in the first part of the dictionary and its two-vector linguocultural commentary. In the second part of the dictionary, proverbs are combined according to the thematic affiliation of their prototypes to one or another culturally significant sphere of the surrounding world (flora, fauna, national cuisine, labor processes, religion, superstitions, folklore, etc.). Inside the thematic blocks, proverbs are collected under core words - culturally labeled components -the names of animals, plants, dishes of national cuisine, folklore heroes and /attributes, etc. The similarities and differences in the figurative structure of the correlative paroemias are reflected by special graphic signs. Thus, the reader understands the general and ethnospecific associations that underlie the /proverbs, connected by their origin with certain spheres of human experience. In the third part of the dictionary, proverbs are combined according to their actual meaning, which will allow the reader to draw conclusions about the primary values of the two linguacultures, the moral and ethical norms that the proverbs affirm. At the level of the microstructure of the dictionary, elements of bilingual commentary of the material are used inside dictionary entries. The materials of all sections of the dictionary are provided with mutual references. In addition, the dictionary has an alphabetical index of Korean proverbs. Thus, the linguistic and methodological value of the dictionary increases for Korean students majoring in Russian studies and for Russian students studying the Korean language.
