The Olonkho language dictionary concept
The article describes the concept of the dictionary of the language of the Yakut heroic epic Olonkho, recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of the oral and intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The aim of the study is to present the key characteristics of the code being developed, reflecting its typological differences. The distinctive qualities of the Olonkho language dictionary are mainly based on principles built taking into account the specific classification features of Turkic languages. When determining the settings of this dictionary, such a regularity of the Yakut language as the agglutinative structure, as well as the morphological and phonetic phenomenon - the law of synharmonism, were taken into account. In the provisions governing the function of the dictionary, the principle of consistency is substantial. This principle refers to the lexico-grammatical and syntactic levels of the language of the Yakut epic. In this regard, in the dictionary, the predominant number of vocabulary words will be represented by stable verbal complexes, which include phraseological figures of speech, compound words with the meaning of nomenclature, epic formulas and other figures of speech in the language of Olonkho. The type of the dictionary is defined as linguistic, explanatory, bilingual. Interpretations of the meanings of vocabulary in it will be given in the Russian and Yakut languages. As part of the study, the objectives of the lexicographic representation of the Olonkho language were established and formulated: (1) to find out the types of linguistic units introduced into the dictionary entry; (2) to determine the form of recording vocabulary in the dictionary; (3) to develop a methodology for constructing a dictionary definition that reveals the connotative meaning of words functioning in the Olonkho language. Some of the problems were solved by the author of the article in a number of published works. The study indicates the target audience of the dictionary. The Olonkho language dictionary is intended for readers interested in issues of the Yakut language and culture, as well as for philologists of various specialties. The research material was the Olonkho text Nyurgun Bootur the Swift (version by K.G. Orosin, 1947). This text is considered one of the classic versions of the existing Olonkho. It fully reflects the typical patterns characteristic of the language of the Yakut epic. The work used methods of systematization, classification analysis, linguostatistics, text experiment, typology, contextual analysis, and definition analysis. In general, the author sought to show that a dictionary built on the basis of the presented concept can not only provide explanations of the meanings of epic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions of Olonkho, but also reflect the fundamental laws of the poetic grammar of the language of the Yakut epic. In Turkic linguo-folklore studies, there are no works based on the principle of systematicity of the lexico-grammatical and syntactic levels of the epic language. In Russian folklore lexicography, due to the differences in the classification characteristics of the language systems of the Slavic and Turkic peoples, projects are implemented based on other principles. Thus, the presented work brings up for discussion an innovative proposal that is aimed at the development of lexicographic methods in linguo-folklore studies. The author declares no conflicts of interests.
