From the editor.pdf According to already formed tradition, the "Musical Almanac of Tomsk State University" devotes it's pages not only to musicological material, but also to related fields, and also to questions of practice and concert performance. Musica instrumentalis goes side by side with judgments and interpretations of music, they are inseparable, as soul and a body in the life of a human. In this issue, as well as in a number of previous ones, there are such headings as "Creative ways" (S. Vavilov's article about two pianists), "Technology of skill" (articles of the conductor and the teacher V.Maximov, and also the soloist of philharmonic society E. Shteynmil-ler and singers - graduates of Institute of arts and culture of Tomsk state university of I. Fattakhov and E. Ryzhova), "Verbum de Musica" (articles P. Nevskaya and P. Volkova), "Works and characters" (V. Andre-yeva and A. Kanayeva's analysis of "Tragicomedy" of S. Slonimsky). In this release there was one more heading - "To the distant countries!." (T. Kartashova and V. Antipova's article about traditional theater of Indonesia, and also D. Lipayeva about Japanese music). Under the heading "Concert Life of the City" there are notes about the staging opera Aleko by S. Rakhmaninov in Tomsk, about the Siberian round of Ro-mansiada competition and of the festival of modern music which took place in Krasnoyarsk. Welcome to the pages of "Musical Almanac"!
