From the editor.pdf Unfortunately, rubric "Vita brevis. Ars longa" has already become permanent. We cannot avoid the circumstances of the surrounding world, because we are a part of it. In this release we will say a word about such performers as Anton Sharoev and Mikhail Karpychev. Rubric "Works and characters" is directed to the works of three composers: Edison Denisov (article by V. Krivopalova and A. Kiriyenko), Pyotr Tchaikovsky (article by N. Miroshnikov and Yu Yan), contemporary foreign author Kaya Saariaho (article by G. Schaplok). Further pages of the almanac are devoted to such problems of musical art as harmony (article E. Prikhodovskaya and A. Okisheva) and sound ornament (the work of V. Klimenko and A. Burtseva). In the heading "Rules of musical genres" we meet the history of the genre of instrumental (more specifically, piano) concert (article by P. Bo-rodikhina) and the question of nationality to the Russian "spirit of culture" of the modern Russian school of composition (article by D. Kotylev). The chief editor expresses special gratitude to Vyacheslav Klymenko and Nikita Miroshnikov, who provides invaluable assistance to the chief editor with preparing the release during a serious illness (Covid-19).
