Business school at technical university: role and tasks

Enhancing requirements to the quality of higher education give rise to many questions. One of those questions is the question about specialization of the universities. In Russia, there is a point of view that each university should be treated as a university training specialists in very limited and strongly defined area of specialties: technical universities, business universities, legal universities, medical universities etc. In opposition to this point of view, the successful experience of implementation of business education programs in a Russian technical university as well as similar experience of the leading Western universities are described in the article. It is shown that well run business school at a technical university allows improving the quality of education of both engineers and managers.
