Addition to the Dictionary of Folk Spoken Language of Tomsk of the17th − the Beginning of the 18th Centuries

The Dictionary of the Folk Spoken Language of Tomsk of the 17th - the Beginning of the18th Centuries (DFSLT), compiled by V.V. Palagina, L.A. Zakharova, G.N. Starikova is a veryvaluable source of historical lexicology study, especially folk and spoken lexicology, of research ofcontemporary social-economic people's life conditions in Siberia. As any lexicographical work DFSLTneeds additions in the process of re-edition.This article represents the material taken from several works: the Dictionary of the Folk DialectSiberian Language of the 17th - the Beginning of the 18th Centuries (compiled by L.G. Panin,Novosibirsk, 1991); L.A. Zakharova's, N.Yu. Potekhina's and G.M. Chigrik's works; Ch.Kh.Babashev's, G.A. Degil's, I.V. Kovalenko's and S.V. Trunkina's diploma works on Tomsk officialletters of the 17th century. This material can be considered as a good addition to DFSLT.The folk-spoken correlation between these two sources is established: formal-grammatical(волостка, горничишко, городок, головишко) and semantic, when the folk-spoken character of theword is confirmed in other dictionaries published later (абыл, бакша, белодушка, блюстися,выметать, etc.).The analysed material is of different character: 1) new, independent words that are not fixed inDFSLT (безделье, белодушка, вертлюг, гарк, горница, дворище, дивоваться, дособрать andothers); 2) if the word is fixed in DFSLT, the addition includes the semantic variants of this word(выпасть (chaps), головишко (depreciative for "head" ( a part of animal's body)), гроза ("anger","strictness"), and others); 3) different variants of common Russian words can enter the addition(заменивать, заставливать, дусчатый, etc.). Many lexical elements specify the place of usage:вершок (+Kuznetsk), вареги (+Kuznetsk), воевать (+Narym), and others.DFSLT is a valuable source of Western Siberian folk spoken language of the 17th - the beginningof the 18th centuries study. The additions to the dictionary should be continued.
