Expressivity of fixed phrase schemes in the Spanish language
This article is devoted to the analysis of fixed phrase schemes in the contemporary Spanish language from the point of view of their expressivity. The emotional and expressive aspect is one of the categorical features of the syntactic fixed phrase units, and fixed phrase schemes in particular. Spanish fixed phrase schemes are used in speech to express different subjective and modal shades of meaning, that is why they influence the recipient directly. The expressivity of fixed phrase schemes depends on many factors, it is created with the help of diverse means, for example, the contrast between the laconic form and the solid content, enantiosemy (symmetric or asymmetric), and grammatical transposition as well. Besides, the expressivity of fixed phrase schemes is influenced by their inner form, that is the presence of links determined by their correlation with the underlying syntactic construction. Fixed phrase schemes contain both dictum and modus propositions. With the help of modus the recipient's attention is emphasized on the different components of the propositional meaning, which is conditioned by the specific structure of such syntactic constructions. The specificity is that the emotional and evaluative meaning of these units is not produced by separate lexical components that form the construction but by the whole syntactic construction. If to extract one of the compulsory structural elements it will lead to the destruction of the grammatical structure of the sentence and to a change of its meaning. The expressivity of fixed phrase schemes is also connected with their stylistic features. These linguistic units are referred to the colloquial style and often have features of the vernacular. Colloquial and vernacular fixed phrase schemes literary language speakers use create a contrast that intensifies the pragmatic value of the utterance. And it helps them to function as one of the important means of influencing the speaker. Thus, fixed phrase schemes in the contemporary Spanish language are expressive means of the language that are frequently used in colloquial speech, primarily the dialogic one. The realization of the pragmatic potential of these syntactic constructions is directed to the improvement of the communication effectiveness as a whole.
