The applicative potential of a cognitive-discursive authorization model
The paper is devoted to the interpretation of meanings expressed by authorization structures in texts of different genres and functional styles, namely, mass media, academic papers and dialects. Interpretation is based on the principles of discourse analysis, as well as on the premises that the category of authorization (evidentiality) as an authorization model that integrates a set of values of subjective components of speech. The cognitive-discursive model of authorization and related methods of analysis of authorization blocks are based on the idea that in addition to the main ("surface") meaning, authorization structures have impressive (additive) sense as well. The cognitive-discursive model of authorization in scientific discourse is a syncretic, multilevel unity of meanings expressed by authorization and is based on the communicative intention of the author, reflecting mental operations associated with them and associated with handling and fixation of scientific knowledge in the text. Subjects' evaluative and everyday activities are more essential for the mass media discourse and dialect. Speech material of the investigated types of discourse is analyzed and subjective components of speech such as its syncretism, intentionality, as well as meta-level, con-situation and supra-segmental character are revealed. Their corresponding meanings are introduced by the same language means, namely, authorization structures that are functionally interrelated. The analysis of the mass media text shows the prevalence of communication meanings of subjective evaluation components of speech within authorization blocks, and the analysis of the verbal dialect text, an autobiographical story, which includes the speech genre of regret, suggests that the specificity of the dialectal forms of communication determines the nature of relevant components of subject speech manifestation. The possibility of using this technique on the material of various discourses indicates the flexibility of the cognitive-discursive authorization model and its considerable heuristic applicative potential, as well as common mechanisms of the predicative situation description. The described cognitive-discursive authorization model accumulates the properties of cognitive-discursive direction of investigation, uniting the facts of grammar (the ability of the same type of syntactic structures to make up the category of authorization to convey the whole complex of meanings of subjective components of speech), of discourse (the determined character of meanings by author's communicative, pragmatic and cognitive attitudes), by cognitive psychology (interpreted authorization meanings).
