Expressions with the word poluchayetsya: prerequisites and conditions for parenthetical use
The article investigates the transition of the verb poluchayetsya ("[it] turns out") to the class of parenthetical words with the meaning of logical conclusion as a fragment of the parts of speech transposition system. The author analyses the semantic variation of this verb in terms of the categorical situation theory, reveals the conditions where semantic variants of this verb function in action situations, action / relational and stative / relational situations, and "pure" relational situations. This verb functioning can be a prerequisite for a transposition. The changes marked in the paper are connected with the process of a gradual transfer from the indicating of a physical action to the mental process. These processes naturally include the transformation of grammar categories. The paper points out the special role of dynamics in voice meanings (the movement from the active voice to the reflexive-middle voice), in aspect and tense semantics. It is mentioned that the imperfective aspect has a special meaning, combining "result" and "process" meanings, that the tense forms can be lost with the exception of the present tense form with a particular meaning of relational meaning "now and thus always". The author also marks the important role of the choice of a single personal plan -the third person singular, close to impersonal use. All these show the possibility to interpret this verb as a parenthetical one. The possibility of parenthetical usage of the verb poluchayetsya can be caused by a series of factors: the break of syntactic relations with the other components of a sentence that typically extend the verb, as well as the specific position and the intonation of a parenthetical phrase. These factors serve as the general transposition rules for the verbs to the class of parenthetical words. This word, being a representative of the "logical conclusion" word group, also has inherent characteristics such as the total loss of paradigm and collocations, and also the "frozen" form usage. The author claims that the parenthetical word poluchayetsya obtains new functions. This word is a marker of inference and a signal of logical conclusion, drawn by the speaker on the basis of the available facts. The main types of expressions with this marker are listed: expressions with the "cause -result" relations, with the argumentative relations, with the relations of characterization (evaluative interpretation). In every type of expressions we can observe the actualization of general and specific semantic and pragmatic functions. Due to the syncretic semantics of parenthetical words the discussed word poluchayetsya interacts with a series of corresponding markers and emphasizes the functions of logical conclusion, author's interpretation of a situation, indirect evidence, uncertainty in the trustworthiness of situation, reconstructing of the missing unit in reasoning. Thus, the active use of parenthetical poluchayetsya can be explained by its polyfunctional character, ability to create the image of a person who can reason logically (that is socially claimed), need to expand the number of inference markers (connected with referring to the option of non-complete trustworthiness), conversational character of use that is typical for nowadays language reality. The expanded and highly frequent use of this unit requires gradual lexicography practice.
