Written communication of modern time: main vectors of development
The article deals with the most importanttendencies of modern Russian written communication, which are found in many spheres, but first of allin the sphere of virtual communication. The tendency towards increasing the significance of theinformation transmission visual channel and the process of expanding holistic forms of production andperception of the transmitted information are studied in this article from the point of view of theantinomic analysis.The article covers the following factors influencing these tendencies: cognitive (formation of thenew written mentality elements), semiotic (new elements of the written code, activation of visualforms, strengthening the written code hieroglyphic component), discourse (strengthening the writtenspeech discourse), communicative (actualisation of perlocutionary effect) and technological, connectedwith the technique of writing (computer typing, increasing the possibilities for rapid and wideinformation spreading). The article deals with the cases of sound reduction in written speech: clippedforms of information transmission, the activity of graphoderivation, creolized texts, polycodes.The article stresses the competition of two codes in the modern written language: acoustic-audialand manual-visual. It is found in a large number of modern means of communication, for example, inlectures and reports with presentations, in Skype, mobile communication. Intensive internalcompetition of these codes is found in the written on-line communication, which largely preserves thepeculiarities of the oral speech. The analysis of such a competition lets the author hypothesize that thecompeting forms in on-line communication are differentiated functionally. The preservation of manymanifestations of oral speech (live discourse) lets the writer realize the function of direct speechimpact on the addressee (in particular, it increases the suggestive and manipulative functions).Reduction of the oral speech elements in written communication, increased hieroglyphization of thetext help to implement the informative function effectively.Thus, in written speech the antinomy of sensual and logical parts of communicators languageconsciousness is realized. The phenomena of modern written communication, such as advertisingcommunication and punctuation, are considered in detail as an example of the mentioned tendenciesrealization. Advertising involves the majority of the above mentioned tendencies and practically has adirect or indirect impact on all forms of communication, including punctuation, especially in naturalwritten speech, where there is an active competition between paragraphemics, focused on the writtenlanguage discourse, and traditional punctuation, focused on structural-semantic accentuation of thespeech material.
