Value conceptualization of the topic "Dostoevsky in Kuznetsk" in the city newspaper Kuznetsky rabochy of the late 20th century: semantic and stylistic analysis
Newspaper text authors of Kuznetsky rabochy view the connection between Kuznetsk and Dosto-evsky's life in a specific context. Usually it concerns thoughts about the honour to be joined to the great writer's destiny and about respect to the small motherland history. In different periods, the moral basis of these thoughts is memory. Also materials actualize ethical estimation: antithesis of memory and oblivion acquires an intertextual status. In the perestroika period and in later materials of the 1990s, the accentuated aspect includes universal spiritual values, while in the early 21st century attention is paid to the cultural life of the city. The perestroika period texts devoted to Dostoevsky in Kuznetsk actualize pejorative estimation of forgetful descendants in the ethical aspect. The key topic for materials of the 1990s is financial trouble connected with cultural heritage preservation. Texts of the 20th century create a brighter image of Kuznetsk in Dostoevsky's epoch, whereas materials of the 21st century emphasize the role of the "Kuznetsk period" in the writer's life and form the image of "cruel feeling". This response in newspaper texts occured not only due to facts and events (the Museum opening in 1980). Another important aspect is the perestroika media texts appeal to the pre-revolutionary history of Kuznetsk: the sphere of subjects presenting the small motherland was expanding. Two stylistic tendencies are remarkable in Kuznetsk image: firstly, generalization used in texts of the late 20th century and prevailing in materials of the early 21st; secondly, specification mainly presented in materials of the late 20th century which open and work out the topic. A generalized city description is created with the help of special hyperonyms and epithets; some of them have an intertex-tual status. Specification of the city image is connected with its space presentation and townspeople images. An important role in forming the city's space image belongs to isotopy chains with partitive connection, as well as to different toponyms, empiric detailing. The narrative about Kuznetsk people, as another significant way of the city image specification, uses not only a generalized description, but also a concrete one. For instance, authors create images of people connected with the "Kuznetsk conflict" of Dostoevsky. A.S. Shadrina, a local studies expert, examines a particular line in Kuznetsk image specification: the view on spiritual life of its people. Hemertonym "Sibirskaya zhizn" is especially important in this context; it conforms to the mass media role in the spiritual life of society, which is constantly expressed in the city newspaper. Concrete description of Kuznetsk people (mainly of E.I. Tumentsev and the Katanaev family) presents not only facts and events, but also a spiritual component, while in materials of the early 21st century the evidential aspect prevails. Therefore, the topic "Dostoevsky in Kuznetsk" is one of the local studies dominants in the city newspaper Kuznetsky rabochy.
