Concept ''war'' in modern song folklore: cognitive-discursive analysis

"War" is one of the key concepts, actively reflexed in song modern rural folklore. It forms life goals, value sets, and the person's opinions in the society. It is presented in the genre diversity of modern rural folklore, it is the ''subject of discussion'' in separate folklore works, acting as the plot-structuring element closely cooperating with other concepts. The kernel position of the concept ''war'' is motivated, first of all, by the fact that this concept is connected with the formation of the idea of sense of life, the identity of the person, the personal and social role in the society, and comprehension of important personal and historical events. It is not at random that modern folklore repertoire has quite the same number of love romances and ballads, and songs on military topics and chastooshkas about war. In the article the description of this concept is presented to reveal the specifics of folklore reception and representation of this category conditioned by the discourse type. This concept, basic for folklore and culture as a whole, is a dual formation through the systems of similar binary oppositions: good/evil, life/death, differently representing them. We understand the folklore concept as the discursive option of a common cultural concept different from concepts of other discourses by the specific content caused by collective views of the folklore society. The folklore concept as a discursive manifestation of a common cultural concept, reflects collective orientations of the society, reproduces the orientations of folklore consciousness in its cultural esthetic manifestation. In the work the concept "war" in the linguo-cognitive aspect is structured basing on the concept of folklore frames, which allows to reveal the features of realization of universal cognitive structures in folklore. The analysis of frame structures of the concept ''war'' showed that in the chastooshka and in the song the focus of attention is the fact of experience of separation, treachery, wound, death, meeting, burdens of war by the persons belonging to different social groups (soldier, sailor, commander, lieutenant, brother-soldiers, mother, wife, the beloved). The concept "war" appears in song folklore as a social and personal event, interpersonal relations, standards of behavior in an extreme situation are significant. It is possible to speak about some ''preservation'' of this concept in modern rural folklore as it, on the one hand, is in the ''topical'' layer of folklore consciousness (military songs and chastooshkas are rather easily reproduced by informants of different age), on the other hand, it is determined in time, therefore it does not receive new reflections, new aspects, expressing the already "traditional" perception. The fixed perception, invariance of estimation in representation of such concepts, in our opinion, is a distinctive feature of folklore discourse focused on tradition and stability in world representation.
