Mythology of artistic space and time in S.S. Bobrov's works
The article analyzes S.S. Bobrov's poetic book The Dawn of Midnight (1804). The author of the article gives a brief overview of research works devoted to the study of Bobrov's poetry - works of V.L. Korovin, M.G. Altshuller, Yu.M. Lotman, Riccardo Nikolozi, L.O. Za-yonts, Yu.I. Mineralov, S.A. Vasiliev, A.V. Petrova. All researchers underline the innovative nature of Bobrov's creative works, his propensity for experiments. A.G. Maslova in her article considers the problem of the origins of Bobrov's experiment. According to the author's hypothesis, Bobrov's innovation in The Dawn of Midnight is due to the mythological thinking of the poet. "Mythology" in literary criticism is considered to be a special world view, referring to natural and cultural constants, to the deep cultural "memory" and creating the author's mythological model of the world. The title "Dawn of Midnight" reflects the mythological content of the book, and the author's model of the world is based on the mythology of the daily time and the mythology of the dying and rising God. Maslova's article shows that time plays a conceptual role in Bobrov's book. Space is inseparable from time. Bobrov's poetry is represented by two spheres: human and divine. Divine is the space of eternal spring and half-day. Human space is characterized by an inexorable course of time, by changing days and nights, seasons, years and centuries, ages of human life, which inevitably approach old age and death. The poet compares the history of humankind with changes of everyday time. Evening twilight means the fall, night time is life in exile from the paradise monastery, dawn is the end of the world, coming noon is the eternal life of the righteous in the renewed Divine world. The central chronotopic image of the book is the image of the midnight sunrise in the title. This image can be understood differently. Firstly, it is the image of Russia - a mid-term power experiencing its dawn in the 18th century thanks to Peter the Great and his successors on the Russian throne. Secondly, it is the image of the world which is in a state of waiting half-day. Thirdly, this is the human life of a person, which is viewed as preparation for a "half-day life", "eternal spring" in the light of Masonic philosophy. In contrast to "midnight" the poet creates the image of "half-day", which is associated with the transformation of humankind in another, non-human, divine being. The mythological thinking of Bobrov is most clearly seen in the fact that the poet pays attention to borders and transitions, movements and qualitative changes, dying and rising. Time rules in the earthly world, it is manifested in the constant change of days and nights, seasons, years and centuries. But the changing life itself means movement to a different, half-day state (that is, to eternity, to the divine space). This movement is shown with the help of the mythol-ogem "the dawn of midnight".
