Measuring Social Demand for Creative Education

In the introduction part of the article, the author substantiates the topicality of the issue, defines the aim and formulates the problem of the research. The author sets to answer the question of what kind of creativity, in what subject, its bearer, and in what quantity is required by the modern community? Describing creativity, the author notes that the emphasis is shifted in favor of the problems of textuality, subjectivity, identity, discourse (circulation of meanings and texts in society). The creation and distribution of cultural goods that are identical to our needs most often involve the manipulation of symbols. Creativity as a specific characteristic of the subject of the educational process is closely related to his / her thinking, focused on the formation of content. Further, the author describes the ontological and epistemological foundations of such thinking. The ontology of the creative is highlighted both in the context of activity-through solving tasks and problems, and in the context of communication-through the creation and deviation from ideal entities through language and symbols. Going deeper into the structure of mental operations, the category of the creative is realized at all levels of the manifestation of the active ability of social individuals. At the same time, activities and communication, complementing each other, allow revealing the possibilities of the creative deeper. In the epistemological aspect, the creative as an active ability to solve problems is manifested first through the reflection of existing ones, and then through the design of new diverse properties, relations of the object. Here the nature of creativity is closely related to the specifics of the mechanisms of reflection. Further, on the example of the competence-based approach implemented in the higher education system in Russia, the author identifies the key characteristics of a modern subject, bearer of creativity. According to the author, the number of such subjects necessary for modern societycan partly be set by the current system of federal educational standards, by example of state educational institutions, and by competencies, the list of which is formed based on various areas of training. At the highest level of education today, the most relevant approaches are those related to the development of critical thinking and creative abilities of a person. One of the main directions in the work of higher education is the formation of professional foundations, which is associated with the inculcation of the ability to continuously learn and develop independently, both professionally and personally. In conclusion, the author summarizes the results and formulates a conclusion.
