Investigation of promising heat-resistant coatings of the Y-Al-O and Ti-Al-C systems
The paper describes the results of studies of the phase composition of heat-resistant coatings based on the Ti-Al-C system and the Y-Al-O system using X-ray diffraction analysis. Coatings were deposited on molybdenum samples by cathodic-arc deposition from two single-component titanium and aluminum cathodes in acetylene and argon gas mixture. The results of the study of the phase composition showed that, after deposition, the coatings of both systems have an amorphous structure. After heat treatment, in the Ti-Al-C system coating the MAX phase Ti2AlC is formed as well as Ti-Al intermetallic compounds, in the coating of the Y-Al-O system, oxides Y2O3, YAlO3, Y4Al2O9 are formed.
