Dislocation jogs impact on the expansion of octahedral dislocation loop and the point defects generation in plastically deformed FCC crystals
The paper studies the influence of jogs, formed on screw segments of a dislocation loop during the intersection of dislocations of non-coplanar slip systems, on the dynamics of expansion of dislocation loops emitted by Frank-Read sources and the generation of point defects during drawing of these jogs in an FCC crystal. The model of motion of segments of an expanding dislocation loop, taking into account the influence of jogs on the resistance to motion of dislocation segments of screw orientation, is presented in the form of three differential equations, two of which describe the dynamics of loop motion, and the third one describes the kinetics of jogs. The equation of dislocation jogs kinetics contains a constant average density of jogs as a parameter. It is shown that the degree of misorientation of the dislocation structure leads to differences in the dynamics of jogs accumulation, in the values of the average density of jogs on screw segments, and in the velocity of motion of screw and edge segments at different stages of deformation.
