Multilevel model of the autowave propagation of plastic deformation front
The method of multilevel 3D modeling based on the synthesis of the model of mechanics of a deformable solid and the model of dislocation kinetics was used to study the heterogeneities of plastic flow of metallic materials. Based on the proposed approach, a description of experimentally observed heterogeneities of plastic deformation of various types was obtained. The results of a numerical experiment on deformation of metallic samples by uniaxial tension are presented. Three-dimensional patterns of the distribution of the intensity of plastic deformation illustrating the formation of a stable and running (propagating) neck under tension were obtained. It is shown that the formation of an autowave of plastic deformation in a solid in the form of a propagating neck is due to the deformation-shear instability of an element of a deformable medium of certain type.
