RANDOMIZED, PLACEBO-CONTROLLED, DOUBLE-BLIND, PROSPECTIVE CLINICAL STUDY OF SILICONE GEL WHICH IS USED TO PREVENT FORMING HYPERTROPHIC SCARS AFTER MEDIAN STERNOTOMY

Randomize, placebo-controlled, double-blind, prospective clinical study of silicone gel which is used to prevent forming hypertrophic scars after median sternotomy was performed. One hundred wounds after sternotomy in 50 patients aged 26—77 years were randomized into 2 groups. The scars were assessed using the Vancouver scale — 4. The experiment course and methods of using the gel are described in details. Effective remedy to prevent forming hypertrophic scars after sternotomy is concluded to be the silicone gel.
