HISTORY OF INVESTIGATION OF THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM

The paper is devoted to the fascinating history of discovery of human lymphatic system. Confirmations of perniciousness of the indisputable authority of Claudia Galen, the great antique doctor and scientist, concerning anatomical studies of all parts of the lymphatic system are presented. Only in 1960, scientists managed to prove the erroneousness of С. Galen's views on “milky vessels” as a link between small arteries and veins.
