PASSIVE FINGER HYPEREXTENSION AS A PREDICTION FACTOR OF PROGRESSION AT DUPUYTREN DISEASE
The paper is devoted to our technique for determination of elasticity of palmar aponeurosis in Dupuytren disease patients from measurements of the passive hyperextension of fingers from the neutral position. Aim of the study: development of the objective method for prediction of possible progression in Dupuytren disease patients in different terms. Material and methods. Results of measurement of the average value of passive hyperextension of fingers from the neutral position in patients of the control group (960 measurements in palms of the both hands: 560 in men and 400 in women of different age) and the main group (771 measurements in fingers of the both hands, in particular, 629 measurements in men and 142 measurements in women) served as materials for the study. Results. Significant differences were revealed in the average value of passive hyperextension of fingers from the neutral position in patients of the main group with I degree of clinical manifestation of the Dupuytren disease. The obtained results allow us to predict, to a certain degree, the progression of the main disease and the development of possible relapses from the data on elasticity of palmar aponeurosis.
