Fundamental error of tolerance discussions

The article presents the results of the ethnomethodological study of modern trends of perversion in self-identity processes. Different examples of perversions of psychological basis and psychological subjects for ideological purposes are given. Psychological manipulation is often composed of the fact that a subject which is a personal matter of a man and is defined in the experience of self-identification and by the area of personal responsibility, is represented as an objective problem, in the form of the problem of social norms (i.e. is defined declaratively as an external, objective circumstance) and converted from a question directed to the person (the subject) into a doubt regarding behavior of other people and then into a social statement about "legalization" of certain expectations. In particular, this is true in the case of changes of information context of gender identity formation. The authors have studied the events and documents, helping us to analyze the structure of the debate on the legalization of gay marriages. Analysis of documents and social processes suggests that psychological substitute of the object (same-sex attraction) to the objective object (legitimized agreement) brings a big danger of losing existential basis and might replace them with social expectations. The authors believe that the present structure of identity risk is above all associated with a dangerous misunderstanding when the creative meaning in a man changing his life is replaced by a question: "is the already existing phenomenon normal?" That is, instead of clarity in understanding the risks related to the existing in life, there is a debate about the possibility "to legitimate" actual existing phenomena in the form of new institutions. Homosexually oriented people are and always have been in the society. The question is not whether it is normal or not normal. It is important that to the fact of their existence and their expectations the pathos of highly importance is given. Sexual practice, if it is based on the basic foundations of human relationships is a personal business of a person or a professional issue of his doctor. Transformation of the personal affair into the necessity to revise social norms can be a dangerous process of alienation from the existential basis.
