The organizational and economic regulators of the professionally responsible attitude: the methodology and the results of the study

The analytical review of the study directions of responsibility is presented, the key ideas of the psychological theory of relations are given. The approach to the study of professionally responsible attitude in different organizational and economic conditions, which is defined in varying degrees as realized, emotionally evaluative and characterized by varying degrees of behavioral readiness attitude of the person to performance of his professional duties; has the level structure (basic, medium, high levels), includes three components: cognitive, affective and behavioral. The typology of relations is developed. There was conducted the empirical study which aim was to identify different types of professionally responsible attitude of employees working in different organizational and economic hazardous conditions (material and socially-oriented). The objectives of the study are focused on studying the individual psychological characteristics, characteristics of professional conduct and success of the activities of employees with different types of responsible attitude. The study identified four types of professionally responsible attitude: "formal", "passive-performing", "active-positive" and "defective", the specificity of their distribution in the sample is showed. During the study the individual psychological characteristics, it was found that the employees who realize the "passive-performing" and "active-positive" types of relationships are characterized with work ethics, friendliness and extraversion. Four generic groups of factors that characterize the professional conduct of employees are identified: "the compliance with the administrative rules", "labor initiative", "focus on improving of the work quality", "self-regulation of professional conduct". The expert assessment method provided data on the success of the activities of employees. Their analysis showed that the "most successful" ones are focused on the behavioral component of responsible attitude reflecting the willingness to actions, the maturity of the appropriate labor skills. The "successful" ones dominate over the rest in the cognitive component of attitude that characterizes the information awareness of employees in respect of their duties. "Less successful" ones are characterized by lower indicators of all the three components of the relationship. The specificity of the distribution of professionally responsible attitude in different organizational and economic conditions that depends on the personal significance of their parameters for the employees is showed. Thus, in the "material" organizational and economic conditions the employees with the "active-positive" type of professionally responsible attitude prevail, whereas in the "socially-oriented" operating conditions the "passive- performing" attitude is mainly implemented. This result showed that the combination of significant material rewards for employees with strict labor discipline, in general, contributes to their more responsible attitude to the responsibilities.
