Relation between individual strategies of lie perception and forms of its presentation
The article is devoted to the study of diverse individual strategies to perceive lies, and relation between their formation and the forms in which false texts are presented. In this study we consider a lie as a psychological system the meaning of which is objectified in the process of complication and intensification of perception (self-development). The problem of studying the strategies of lies perception is explored on the basis of the systemic-anthropological approach. The study showed that there is a variability and typicality of individual strategies of perception of lies. Results and discussions. The data for the study were opinions and assessments of respondents from three groups, differing by the form of presentation of the stimulus material. The results showed that with this type of the study design (when stimulus material was presented as a short news report) participants use both simple and complex strategies of perception of false messages. In a group of participants, in which the message was presented in a text form, motivational cognitive strategies prevailed. In the "auditory group" of participants cognitive-affective strategies with elements of motivational intention were dominating. In the "audio-visual group" motivational-affective and cognitive strategies with elements of authentic intention were predominant. Statistically significant differences were found for the parameter "realism", and the number of references to the text. The form of presentation of lies influenced the level of assessment to the specified parameter. The lowest values of the level of assessment of the parameter "realism" was demonstrated by the participants from the "text group". The highest value for the same parameter was demonstrated by the participants from the "audio-visual" group. Correlation analysis showed a close relation between the majorities of parameters. In the "text group" the complication of the strategies for perception of lies was performed on motivational-authentic way. In the "auditory group" the complication of the strategies for perception of lies was performed on cognitive-affective way. Finally, the participants from the "audio-visual group" demonstrated the complication process in all types of intentions. Conclusion The study revealed different types of strategies for perception of lies. The relation between individual perception strategies and the form of presentation of false messages was discovered. Stable and changeable components of strategies were identified. Stable components include motivational and cognitive. Changeable components are affectivity and authenticity. These findings may be used in the development of technologies to counter manipulations of social and individual consciousness.
