Genuine psychologist: a few accents to the portrait of G.V. Zalevsky
The main scientific interests of G.V. Zalevsky are: methodology of psychology; theory of psychological and psychopathological research; problems of understanding and explanation; philosophy of psychology; history of psychology, in particular history of clinical psychology; organization of scientific institutes, journals, and events. In the interviews the following topics are presented: history of the research program studying fixed forms of behavior, that is mental rigidity; review of the tendency of making methodological principles absolute, in particular, the principle of system. The relevance of integration for the "lower levels of the methodological pyramid", and the methodological pluralism for the "upper levels", in particular for the author's research project. In discussions of the issue of the methodological crisis in psychology there is a dangerous tendency to extremist resolution of it, and therefore it is suggested that the crises are viewed as normal. It is also suggested that it is necessary to specify the crisis in the light of continuity and renewal of reality at each historical stage. The author put forward the pragmatic principle of dualism and the complementarity of understanding and explanation in the context of solving the issues of the "plurality of psychologies" and the perspectives for further development of psychology.
