AFFECTIVE/PERSONALITY COMPONENT IN THE STRUCTURE OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN PERSONS WITH INSULIN-DEPENDENT DIABETES MELLITUS

One hundred and ten patients with type 1 diabetes (IDDM) of different intensity of chronic complications were examined in the complex medico-psychological study. On the basis of the results the following conclusions were made: diabetes chronic complications (poly-neuropathy, nephropathy and retinopathy) affect negatively patients' quality of life. The number of complications of moderate and high degree of intensity sorts with high level of pseudo-neurotic symptomatology, with sharper perception of limiting role of the disease and low characteristics of physical activity and vitality. The revealed disorders should be concerned as a result of influence of both physical and psychosocial factors.
