QUALITATIVE ANALYSIS IN WORK WITH TEST PICTURESQUE FRUSTRATION S. ROSENZWEIG. I. MOTIVATIONAL ASPECT
Possibilities of the usage of S. Rosenzweig’s Picture-Frustration Study in clinical psychology are reviewed. The authors propose and justify the application of qualitative analysis to the data provided by method in question. It supposes the abandonment of formal schema of analysis, attention to the ways of accomplishing the task by subject, account of the sequence of answers and of the context, modifications of inquiry. Following the traditions of Russian pathopsychological school four aspects of mental functioning are distinguished in the material revealed by Study: motivation, dynamics, control and critical attitude, instrumental repertory. The phenomena observed when analyzing the motivation aspect are described in details.
