COMPARATIVE STUDY OF PSYCHOLOGICAL STATUS IN YOUNG FIRE-FIGHTERS AND STUDENTS OF THE FIRE AND RESCUE COLLEGE NRCERM, EMERCOM OF RUSSIA
Psychological examination of specialists of the State Fire-Fighting Service, EMERCOM of Russia, St. Petersburg and students of the fire and rescue college named St. Petersburg Centre for Fire Training was conducted in order to study the psychological status and to reveal criteria for prediction of activity self-regulation and professional longevity in extreme professions. During the study the students were revealed to be more likely to form anxiety and depression, their parameters of neuropsychic hardiness were reduced and, compared to fire-fighters of the same age, they had less confidence in the world around them. Besides, they were less self-confident and insufficiently involved into the professional community.
