European Union member countries' stance on the emission and circulation of virtual currencies

In this paper the European Union member countries' stance on the emission and circulation of virtual currencies is studied. The author identifies the fact that opinions on virtual currencies are not in agreement. In addition, the author considers the European Central Bank and the European Banking Authority's opinions on virtual currencies and reveals the term "digital representation of value", which is a new concept in economic practice.
