The Rusinian Universe in Ivan Franko's Poetical Discourse
The research focuses on the phenomenon of Rusinian poetic discourse and its genetic connection with the poetic text. The poetic discourse cannot be identified with the text under analysis created by the poet's unique linguistic personality, as it is integrated into the text as a generating mental code to transform the language of metaphorical thought into the living ethnically coloured poetic word. This research of the poetic discourse of Ivan Yakovlevych Franko, an outstanding Ukrainian nineteenth-century poet, demonstrates the palette of the Rusinian ethnic culture. The author identifies three levels in the poet's individual picture of the world: 1) deep (worldview) level representing a part of the global (universal) cultural picture of the world; 2) the level of national Ukrainian interpretation of the ethnical (Rusinian) component in Franko's picture of the world, which is considered to be a part of a different culture; 3) a surface ethnic level connected with the poet's Rusinian worldview. The unique magic of I. Franko's linguistic personality formed by Ethos (temper, nature, mentality of the nation), Logos (universal meaning, rhythm and harmony of Rusinian life reminiscent of the "fire of poetic thinking") and Pathos (passionate enthusiasm for the poetic idealization of the Rusinian worldview) manifests itself in artistic and speech forms of his dominant discursive strategy.
