Slavic toponyms of Bukovina
In the article the Slavic names are examined in toponyms of the rivers and settlements of Bukovina. A question concerning the name «Bukovina» and his mention are investigational in the deeds of XIV - XVII. Actually the name of edge «Bukovina» gained a foothold as administrative unit in Austro-Hungarian period (with 1774). The Slavic population in an edge is known on numerous sources long before A.D. Archaeologists are educe tracks more than 200 Slavic settlements. The names of the Bukovina rivers in that it is possible to see the ethnic roots of their origin are investigational. The Slavic names of the rivers of Bukovina meet in folk songs. Connection of the name of the rivers and small rivers is specified with a prevailing vegetation on the banks of these waterways. The Slavic names of the rivers and settlements are related to the surrounding animal by the world, behavior of the rivers, noise effect, proper names, etc. plenty of the rivers on Bukovina shows the forms and value for a population. There are the names of the small rivers, repetitive in the names breeds of stone or clay on the way of their flow. Names of the rivers of Bukovina, showing ethnic wheels within wheels of population of edge in Middle ages, stratifications of one language on other, show by itself the certificate of large antiquity and constancy of the Slavic population in the Bukovina edge. Most rivers and settlements of Prut, Dniester and Seret of pools have the Slavic origin in the basis, that specifies on the old residence of the Slavic population in an edge.
