The Slavs in Central Germany

Since the early Middle Ages, covered the moving of West Slavic tribes in considerable part of the Central Europe, extending to the west for the line of the rivers Elba - Saale. This article contains the short review of traces of Slavic settlements in Frankish Empire, in the Western Thuringia and Harz Mountains, on the basis of written, linguistic, archaeological and folklore sources.
