Due to the increased interest to the history of the Rusinian nation that is going through a period of strengthening its national identity that is being questioned by Ukrainian nationalists, the story of relationships of Russophile and Ukrainophile directions among the Russian population of the Austrian Empire in the late XIX -early tenth centuries becomes more and more actual. This is the birth of Ukrainian nationalism and the Rusinian national identity. The authors wish to draw the attention of researchers of the history of the Rusinian journal "Slavic Century", which came out in Vienna in 1900-1905 and was the only Slavic magazine in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. A rare issue was published without any messages from Galicia, Transcarpathia and Bukovina. In 92 issues of the magazine, which were available to the authors there were placed 103 articles and information notes on the situation in the Podyaremnaya Russia, as editors called Russian lands in the Habsburg Empire. The magazine is a valuable source on the history of the Rusin people.
