Language Rights of Rusins, Ukrainians and Other National Minorities in the Current Laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The article analyzes the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina governing the use and functioning of the languages of national minorities living in the state. Based on the results of population censuses in Bosnia and Herzegovina, data are given on the absolute and relative number of Rusins and Ukrainians, as well as on those who indicated Rusinian and Ukrainian as their mother tongues. A conclusion is made that the language rights of the national minorities are most broadly reflected in the laws of the state and sub-state levels: the Constitution, the Law on the Protection of National Minorities, international treaties (European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages). These legal acts fix the obligations of the state in the public use of minority languages in education, judiciary, in administrative and public activities, in media, culture, economic and social life, in place names, etc.
