First social organizations of Rusins in the United States of America
The process of studying the national identity of Rusins is experiencing a period of strengthening from the end of the XX century. Simultaneously with the study of the history of this ethnic group and its language and culture, the interest to the migration process of Rusin population of Carpathian Ruthenia activated. The article deals with the process of making the first Rusin "mutual aid societies" in the United States of America -Russian Orthodox Catholic Mutual Aid Society, Russian Brotherhood Organization of the United States of America, Russian Consolidated Mutual Aid Society of America. Special attention is paid to the goals and objectives of that societies, their role in the strengthening of Orthodoxy, as well as the preservation of the Rusin culture in the United States and the world.
